Grömitzer Welle

The Grömitzer Welle stands directly on the Kurpromenade of the Baltic resort of Grömitz, beside the pier and next to the a-ja Resort, and it is a genuine seawater bath rather than a brine-dosed one. The operator writes of "1.000 Quadratmeter Wasserfläche mit 1,1 Millionen Litern aufbereitetem Seewasser" and, on the same page, of bathing "bei einer Lufttemperatur von 33 Grad und aufbereitetem Ostseewasser" — that is, water drawn from the Baltic and treated, not fresh water with salt added, and not thermal water: no spring, well or mineral content is claimed anywhere on the site. Bathers are told they can enter "in verschiedenen Becken ins 27 bis 33 Grad warme Nass", so the pools are held between 27 and 33 °C, and the hall is kept at an air temperature of 33 degrees. Panorama windows give onto the Lübeck Bight and the beach.

No total pool count is published; the bathing landscape is given as an enumeration. The wave pool runs "von 10 - 20 Uhr (Dienstag um 19.30 Uhr keine Welle) alle 30 Minuten" and can produce six wave patterns, from a gentle ripple to a surfing wave up to one metre high. Beside it are a Freizeit- und Erlebnisbecken where the Baltic water stays shallow, a Strömungskanal and a water slide which together are said to guarantee action "auf fast 70 Metern Länge" — the operator gives that figure for the pair, not for the slide alone — plus geysers, a waterfall, bubble and massage jets, a whirlpool and a baby area with its own sanitary room and changing facilities. Large outdoor terraces face the beach. An outdoor pool exists but is reserved for sauna guests: "Bitte beachtet, dass das Außenbecken nur über den Saunabereich erreichbar ist."

The sauna landscape is listed with four heat rooms and their temperatures: a Panoramasauna at 80 degrees with a view of the Lübeck Bight and the white beach of Grömitz, a Finnische Sauna at 90 degrees, a Dampfbad at 40 degrees with high humidity suited to peelings, and a Lichtsauna at 60 degrees with humidity of about 50 per cent. Two operator pages disagree on the inventory: the sauna page names those four, while the homepage advertises "diverse Saunen – finnisch, Licht und Biovital, Panorama mit Meerblick", adding a Biovital cabin that the sauna page does not list. Around the cabins are two quiet rooms, experience showers, an ice fountain, foot baths, massage loungers, infrared chairs and the sauna-only outdoor pool, which is kept at 22 degrees. Infusions and peelings run daily from 12:00 on a published rota across the Finnish sauna, the panorama sauna and the steam bath. Every third Friday of the month the sauna stays open until midnight for the Lange Saunanacht, at a supplement of 9.00 € on top of the normal entry from 18:00.

Opening hours are daily 08:00–21:00 with last admission at 19:30; wave operation runs 10:00–20:00 and the sauna 10:00–21:00. Catering sells drinks 11:00–20:00 and food 12:00–18:00. The bath is open all year and closes for maintenance from 18 to 22 January 2027. Admission for the bath alone: adults 17.00 € up to three hours and 22.00 € beyond, children up to and including 15 years 9.00 € and 12.00 €, children up to 1 m in height free, a family flat rate for up to five people with at most two adults at 49.00 € without time limit, and a Vitalkarte for up to 1.5 hours at 13.00 €. With the sauna: adults 25.00 € up to three hours and 30.00 € beyond, children 17.00 € and 20.00 €. Season tickets run to 440.00 € for half a year and 770.00 € for a year for the bath, 550.00 € and 990.00 € including sauna. Bathrobes are lent at 10.00 € and towels at 5.00 €. No opening or rebuilding year is published on the site, which refers only to "der neuen Grömitzer Welle".
