Kübomare Meerwasser- und Saunawelt

KUEBOMARE stands one street back from the promenade of the Baltic resort of Kuehlungsborn, at Rudolf-Breitscheid-Strasse 19, and is run as a division of the MORADA Strandhotel Kuehlungsborn. Its selling point is the filling rather than the architecture: the indoor hall is a Meerwasserschwimmhalle, and both of its basins hold genuine Baltic seawater all year round. The two pools cover 400 square metres of water between them — a 25 by 12.5 metre swimmers' pool for lengths, and a leisure basin fitted with bubble loungers, floor jets, massage nozzles and a counter-current channel. A glazed winter garden with loungers runs alongside for the interval between swims, and the house describes the water simply as pleasantly tempered without publishing a figure.

The sauna floor is the larger half of the offer, occupying 1,500 of the site's 3,000 square metres and sized for up to 150 guests. Seven cabins are listed: a Finnish sauna at 90 C, a steam bath, a bio sauna in the 40 to 65 C range, a cabin-styled Kajuetensauna, a dry sauna, a Kelo log-house sauna and a Kelo earth sauna, supplemented by an infrared cabin, an ice fountain, foot baths, experience showers and a combined quiet and sleeping room. Not all of them run every day: a published sauna plan assigns four cabins to each weekday, so which rooms are hot depends on when a visitor arrives.

Two of the wood cabins, the Kelo log house and the Kelo earth sauna, sit outdoors in a planted garden with a sheltered sun trap, further experience showers and a green quiet area. Admission is sold by time rather than by day: the seawater hall alone runs from 17 euros for 90 minutes, a combined water-and-sauna ticket from 25 euros for two hours, with ten-visit cards, monthly passes and a day-spa package that bundles robe and towel hire with discounts at the neighbouring hotel spa. The water hall opens daily from 10:00 to 21:00 and the sauna world from 14:00 to 21:00.
