FehMare Erlebnisbad

FehMare is the indoor bathing and wellness house on the Sudstrand at Burgtiefe on the Baltic island of Fehmarn, at Zur Strandpromenade 6, run by FehMare Betriebsgesellschaft mbH. The operator describes a bathing world of over 4,500 square metres spread across three levels, built so that large panorama windows give a view over the Baltic from inside the water and from the wellness rooms. It is explicitly a year-round house rather than a summer beach facility, marketed as offering the feeling of a perfect summer day by the sea in any weather.

The distinguishing feature is the water itself. The main basin is a seawater wave pool filled with real seawater, and the operator activates a lively wave motion every hour so that bathers feel transferred to the open sea. The pool deepens towards the back and has a shallow, beach-like entry that forms a wide surf zone, so that weak swimmers and children can use it. A separate leisure pool holds massage jets, whirlpool loungers, underwater jets and a swim-through channel into an outdoor pool, and is fitted with a waterfall and a tube water slide; children have their own pool with water toys including a water-spouting turtle, a water mushroom and a pumping station, and every basin is stated to have a shallow acclimatisation zone. Early swimming in the large seawater pool runs before regular opening on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 08:00 to 10:00.

The sauna world is on the upper level and is priced separately from the bathing world. The operator names a panorama sauna and a roof sauna with sea views, a saunarium, a steam bath and an outdoor sauna on the roof, with hourly infusions by trained sauna masters using natural essences; the rest zone has a fireplace and loungers facing the sea, and the roof terrace holds a spa wooden tub, an ice fountain and foot baths. A spa department offers massages and bathing ceremonies, and an Askero-style wellness list is complemented by a swimwear restaurant, the Burger Station, with a sun terrace. A Wednesday women's sauna runs from 18:00 to 22:00. Aqua-fitness, swimming lessons and children's badges round out the programme.

Opening hours follow a high-season and low-season calendar published as a poster. In high season the bathing world opens daily from 10:00 to 19:00 with last admission at 17:30; out of season it opens Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 19:00 and at weekends from 10:00 to 19:00. The sauna world runs Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00 and Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 in high season, and from 13:00 on weekdays out of season. High season covers the German public-holiday and school-holiday blocks listed on the same poster. The poster also states that from 4 January 2027 the house will be closed for its annual overhaul, and gives shortened hours around Christmas and New Year. A three-hour adult bathing ticket costs 16 euro and a day ticket 21 euro; with the sauna world these become 23 and 28 euro. No water temperature is published for any pool, and the water is seawater rather than thermal or brine water in the spa sense.
