About
The düb is the municipal family and leisure bath of Dülmen in the Coesfeld district of North Rhine-Westphalia. The operator divides it into three branded areas that share one building: dübFun for the water attractions, dübSole for the salt-water pools and dübRelax for the sweat rooms and quiet zones, with a separate outdoor bath and a campervan pitch on the same site. Admission covers the indoor halls all year; the open-air bath and its heated sports pool are added in the summer season.
In dübFun the two adventure pools, indoor and outdoor, hold 400 square metres of water at a nominal 28 °C and are joined by a swimming channel, so the outdoor half can be reached from inside; the operator states that the outdoor adventure pool is shut during the genuinely cold months to save energy. The pools carry a natural-stone grotto with a waterfall, bubblers and light effects, water cannon and massage jets. The multi-purpose pool covers 336.5 square metres, is 25 metres long over five lanes and carries a jumping and climbing rock with 3 m and 1 m platforms. Sliding is on a tube slide of about 54 metres, a newer 25-metre tube slide with timing in the Johnny dübAbenteuerland children's area, and a three-wave broad slide outdoors.
The brine element is dübSole: two connected pools, one indoor and one outdoor, giving 240 square metres of salt water at 31 °C with a floor bubbler, massage jets, a broad spout, a bubble bench for several people, coloured light animation and a view of the Kneipp garden with its graduation tower. The water is salt water rather than a spring product — the operator publishes neither a salt concentration nor a source — and the rest of the house is plain heated water. The adjoining dübRelax is unusual in being textile throughout: the operator states that guests use every area clothed and puts annual use of the sweat rooms at more than 50,000 guests across an area of over 1,000 square metres. Its rooms are the Panorama sweat room at 75 °C with capacity for about 60 people and a view of the Kneipp garden, the herb sweat room in the bath house at 60 °C, a multimedia salt relax house into whose air micro-fine Dead Sea salt is fed continuously, a deep-heat oxygen bath with infrared panels and an oxygen content raised by 3 to 5 per cent, and a sensory steam bath, alongside a rest house and the Kneipp garden.
Regular hours are 09:00 to 21:00 from Tuesday to Thursday and at weekends and on public holidays, 09:00 to 23:00 on Friday, with Monday reserved for schools, clubs and courses except in the school holidays and on holidays, and early swimming on Tuesday and Wednesday from 06:30 to 08:00. The house closes on New Year's Day, Rose Monday, Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. A notice dated to Tuesday 8 September 2026 reduces public use sharply: the adventure hall, the outdoor bath and the brine and relax areas are given over to courses and clubs on Monday from 08:00 to 20:00 and from 08:00 to 10:00 on the other days, with public bathing only from 10:00 to 18:00.
