AquaFun Soest

AquaFun Soest at Ardeyweg 35 is a combined leisure and sports bath run by AquaFun Soest GmbH; the operator splits its site into a Wasserwelt (water world) and an AquaSpa Saunawelt (sauna world), each with its own tickets and hours. The water is plain heated pool water; the operator makes no claim of thermal, mineral or brine water anywhere on the site, and no spring or borehole is mentioned. The bath section enumerates seven pools without giving a total: a wave pool, a year-round outdoor pool, a children's pool, a competition pool, a teaching pool, an outdoor sports pool and an outdoor children's pool. The competition pool is described as "in unserem 25 Meter langen Wettkampfbecken" and carries a diving-tower installation; the teaching pool adjoins it and hosts school swimming, swimming courses and aqua classes, with free water gymnastics on weekday mornings. The indoor area connects to the year-round outdoor pool through a sluice, and that pool has neck-massage jets and bubble loungers. The wave pool is fed by wave machines and adjoins water play features and a current channel.

Three slides are described. The FunAconda is the steepest: "Zwar ist die Rutsche nur 9 Meter lang, aber bei einem Gefälle von 70 Grad und einer Fallhöhe von 1,60 Meter" — nine metres long, a 70-degree gradient and a 1.60 metre drop, open only in scheduled 15-minute windows through the day and restricted to competent swimmers aged 10 and over, during which the sports pool is only partly usable. The tube slide is 90 metres long, ridden on a ring, with curves and light effects. A snake slide sits in the fenced non-swimmer area for small children. Other features are a whirlpool at 37 °C, a current channel, a water playground, a beach area, and a Wärme-Oase warm lounge of about 40 square metres on the gallery above the competition pool, included in the admission price. The outdoor lido runs "Von Mitte/Ende Mai bis September", when the heated 25-metre outdoor sports pool and the children's outdoor pool with a mini slide open alongside a large lawn.

The AquaSpa sauna world states "Jede unserer sieben Saunakreationen hat ihr eigenes, unverwechselbares Ambiente" — seven sauna creations, listed as the Valo-Bad, the steam bath, the Panorama sauna, the Lepo warm-air bath, the Otso log-cabin sauna, the earth sauna and the bread-baking sauna. The area is textile-free; a bathrobe or towel is required outside the cabins and in the restaurant. The operator's page text gives the Valo-Bad as "das Warmluftbad (65 Grad, 45 % Luftfeuchtigkeit)", while the animated counter on that same page shows 65 °C with 10 % humidity, so the two humidity figures on the page disagree; the counters on the other cabin pages read 55 °C for the steam bath, 85 °C for the Panorama, Otso and bread-baking saunas, 95 °C for the earth sauna and 65 °C for the Lepo warm-air bath. The sauna world also has day-spa houses, a graduation tower, a rest house, a pool bar, a sauna garden, ice bathing, a women's sauna and a wellness department with facial treatments, classical and aroma-oil massages and Ayurveda ceremonies.

Water-world opening hours are Monday to Thursday 10:00-20:00, Friday 10:00-21:00, Saturday 09:00-21:00 and Sunday and public holidays 09:00-20:00, with early swimming Monday to Friday 06:00-10:00 (admission until 09:30) and the lido 10:00-20:00 on weekdays and 09:00-20:00 at weekends and on holidays. Published water-world prices include a 90-minute single ticket, bookable only at reception, at 7.50 € for adults and 5.00 € for children, and a weekday Aktiv four-hour tariff bookable 10:00-13:00 at 6.00 € for adults and 5.00 € for children, excluding public holidays and North Rhine-Westphalian school holidays. Tickets are sold at reception and through an online shop, where the online ticket is day- and time-bound and guarantees entry if admission is capped.
