Donautherme

The Donautherme stands at Südliche Ringstraße 63 in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, and is divided into three separately priced parts: a family leisure bath, a thermal section and a sauna world, with a fitness studio, restaurants and a wellness department attached. Day-to-day operation is contracted to GMF GmbH & Co. KG of Munich, which runs bathing and leisure facilities under the managed by GMF and vivamar brands. The thermal and sauna sections are open only to visitors aged 16 and over, and proof of age is required.

The thermal hall is a recent building of plain, open architecture. Its water rises in a small spring pot of 10.5 m² described as the source of the thermal water, and feeds a set of shallow pools: a 30 m² brine pool at about 34 °C under a star ceiling, a 30 m² champagne pool with fine bubbles at the same temperature, and a 268 m² thermal landscape at about 33 °C fitted with massage couches, bubble jets and neck showers. An outdoor pool, a large textile steam bath at about 45 °C, a waterfall shower and a treading basin at about 18 °C and a pool bar complete the section. The operator states only that the water contains minerals and trace elements; no analysis, spring temperature or drilling depth is published.

The sauna world holds seven saunas around a garden with a pond: the Donausauna at about 95 °C used for infusion ceremonies, the Feuersauna at about 100 °C with an open hearth, the Hopfensauna at about 95 °C scented with hops in reference to Ingolstadt's brewing history, a Finnish sauna at about 90 °C, the Saunanest at about 80 °C, the Waldsauna at about 75 °C built in kelo wood and the mild Zirbensauna at about 60 °C in Swiss pine. A steam bath, a plunge pool, rest rooms and a 34 °C exercise pool belong to the same area.

The leisure bath, open to all ages, is built around a 396 m² wave pool at about 32 °C, a 255 m² sports pool with four 25-metre lanes at about 26 °C, a 317 m² outdoor pool with a current channel at about 32 °C, a 13 m² whirlpool, a 45 m² children's world at about 34 °C and a slide tower. The house opens daily from 10.00, including public holidays; from 1 October 2026 the winter hours are 10.00 to 21.00 for the leisure bath and 10.00 to 22.00 for the thermal and sauna sections, with last admission an hour before closing.
