The house that started thermal Dax's modern era: the spring was found on this site in 1966 and the baths opened in 1968, the first of the Thermes Adour group.

About

Thermes du Régina is the oldest establishment of the Thermes Adour group and the reason the group exists. The operator's own chronology puts the discovery of a hot thermal spring at Dax in 1966 on the Régina site, the opening of the baths on 1 April 1968, and the opening of the linked Hôtel Régina on 1 March 1969. The house stands on the eastern edge of central Dax between the Arènes park and the sports park, and the adjoining Résidence Régina, 65 apartments and studios, connects to the treatment building through an underground gallery, so curistes staying there never go outdoors to reach a session. Guests lodged elsewhere in town can book the operator's shuttle.

The building is described as spacious, modern and fully air-conditioned, and the treatment on offer is the French conventionné cure: eighteen days prescribed by a doctor and reimbursed by the social insurance funds, in rheumatology or phlebology orientation or in a double orientation combining both. Alongside these run specific programmes built around workshops on osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, back health, osteoporosis and chronic venous insufficiency, six-day preventive thermal weeks, and evening cures timed around a working day. The active ingredients are the Dax peloid, a river silt matured with local cyanobacteria and distributed to every establishment in the town by a single municipal authority, thermal water, and a pine-derived turpentine substitute.

Thermes Adour states that it owns its own waters and that among its houses only Thermes des Arènes uses thermal water from the Dax municipal utility, so the Régina is supplied from the group's own springs. The establishment itself publishes no pool count, no bathing temperature and no borehole figures. The 2026 season runs 9 February to 12 December; treatments are given daily except Sunday, and on public holidays unless the holiday falls on a Sunday.
