A Dax cure house on Boulevard Albert Camus beside the Estey lake, and the one establishment of the Thermes Adour group that draws its thermal water from the town's municipal supply rather than the group's own springs; it also runs the widest programme of evening cures, given from 5 to 8 pm.

About

The Thermes des Arenes stand on Boulevard Albert Camus in Dax, on the edge of the Estey lake and its fitness trail, with their own parking and lodgings within walking distance. The house works as a conventional cure centre: eighteen days of prescribed and reimbursed treatment in rheumatology or phlebology, the two orientations that made Dax and Saint-Paul-les-Dax the busiest thermal destination in France for rheumatic and venous complaints, plus double-orientation courses, targeted workshop programmes on osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, back health, osteoporosis and chronic venous insufficiency, and six-day preventive mini-cures. It came to the present operator late: until 2013 Thermes des Arenes was a separate business, and it was the simultaneous acquisition of that company and of Thermes Adour that produced the merged group now behind both.

One detail sets this house apart from its stablemates and is worth stating plainly, because the group itself does: Thermes Adour owns the springs used by its other establishments, while the Arenes take their thermal water from the municipal authority of Dax. The mud is common ground - the Dax peloide, Adour river silt matured with cultivated cyanobacteria and supplied by the town's mud authority to every thermal house in Dax and Saint-Paul-les-Dax, applied for fifteen minutes at 41 to 44 degrees and followed by a jet shower of thermal water. Around it come the standard treatments of the group's two orientations: high-pressure and underwater showers, hydromassage baths, turpentine-substitute showers, local steam boxes, physiotherapist-led mobilisation in a thermal-water pool, and for phlebology a walking circuit in a shallow pool whose floor is roughened and fed with compressed-air jets.

The Arenes are also the group's main address for evening cures, full eighteen-day prescribed courses rearranged for people who cannot stop working for three weeks: the same treatments given Monday to Saturday between 5 and 8 pm. Four windows are listed for 2026 - 16 March to 4 April, 11 to 30 May, 21 September to 10 October and 9 to 29 November - which is twice as many as at any other house in the group. The ordinary 2026 season runs from 23 February to 5 December, with treatments every day except Sunday and on public holidays unless they fall on a Sunday. A bathrobe and towel are supplied daily; guests bring swimwear, a bathing cap, compulsory during treatments, and plastic pool sandals. A thermal shuttle can be booked by those staying away from the site.
