Therme Laa an der Thaya

Therme Laa an der Thaya is a thermal bath and resort in Laa an der Thaya, Lower Austria, roughly an hour from Vienna. The operator states that the facility is fed by the 'Laa Thermal Nord I' healing spring (Heilquelle), a sodium-chloride-iodine mineral thermal source, and pairs a large water landscape with sauna areas, a dedicated children's world, a premium adults-only day spa and an on-site hotel.

Thermal water

The thermal water comes from the 'Laa Thermal Nord I' spring, a sodium-chloride-iodine mineral thermal source. The water emerges at an exit temperature of 42 °C, has a pH value of 7.36, which the operator calls skin-friendly, and flows at a rate of 6.3 litres per second.

Pools

The therme offers a water landscape of about 7,800 m² comprising five pools. Named features include an outdoor brine (sole) pool, a wild-water pool, and children's basins, including a shallow pool of 30 cm depth. The operator gives no individual pool temperatures.

Sauna and steam

The operator describes its family textile sauna as Austria's first; alongside it are a separate adult sauna world (Saunawelt) and a steam bath (Dampfbad).

Family and children

For families the therme has a children's water world featuring the 90-metre illuminated adventure slide 'Fantasia', a toddler pool with a water-spraying turtle, an upper-floor play paradise, and a family oasis with reserved island seating.

Wellness and spa

Wellness offerings include massages, lymphatic drainage, cosmetic and facial treatments, manicures and pedicures. The separate Silent Spa is a premium day spa for guests aged 16 and over, featuring saunas, a steam bath and private suites with a steam cabin and double bathtub.

Hotel

The resort's hotel offers 122 rooms and suites with private balconies, in Standard Superior, Panorama, Junior Suite and Senior Suite categories.

Opening hours

The therme is open daily 09:00–22:00, with last admission two hours before closing and swimming ending at 21:40 (reduced hours on 24 and 31 December).
