Zhayvoronok Health Resort

The «Zhayvoronok» wellness complex in Berehove (Beregovo) is one of Transcarpathia's best-known geothermal bathing destinations, opened in 2003 at the foot of the Zakarpattia hills near the town centre. It is built around naturally hot, mineral-rich water drawn from a deep thermal spring, whose warm brownish water is prized for its therapeutic reputation.

Geothermal water & temperature

The complex is fed by a hot mineral spring; the operator gives 57 °C at the wellhead, from boreholes 1,200 metres deep, and 25 to 40 °C in the thermal pools themselves. The water is mineralised (containing sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium) and carries a characteristic hydrogen-sulphide, iodine-brine character.

Setting

Alongside the pools the resort offers a hotel, a restaurant with traditional Transcarpathian cuisine, a wine cellar and a small zoo, making it a full-day family destination.
