Termas da Fonte Santa de Almeida

Termas da Fonte Santa de Almeida is a municipal thermal spa set on the Encosta da Fonte Santa, about 3.5 km northwest of the fortified village of Almeida in Portugal's Guarda district. The waters emerge at around 560 m altitude from the slopes of the valley carved by the River Coa, in a green landscape close to the historic star fort and its military museum.

Thermal water & source

• Weakly mineralised, sulphurous, bicarbonate and sodium water rising from the local springs
• Emergence temperature around 29 C, with an alkaline pH
• Traditionally used for respiratory conditions, rheumatic diseases and musculoskeletal disorders

Baths & balneotherapy

• Balneotherapy area offering hydromassage, Vichy shower with massage, thalaxion, jet shower and Turkish bath
• Physiotherapy and hydrotherapy including manual massage, joint mobilisation, muscle strengthening, respiratory cinesitherapy and lymphatic drainage
• Medical support area supervising the thermal treatments

• Sauna, Turkish baths and a gymnasium
• Massage cabins with anti-stress, anti-cellulite and aromatherapy massages, green-tea wraps, hot-stone massage and facial treatments

• Open Monday to Saturday, 9:00-12:30 and 16:00-19:30; closed Sundays
