SPA Termal de Pedras Salgadas

Pedras Salgadas Spa & Nature Park sits in Bornes de Aguiar, Vila Pouca de Aguiar, in Portugal's Vila Real district, about an hour and ten minutes from Porto. The estate is built around the town's celebrated naturally sparkling mineral springs, set within a 20-hectare wooded park.

Mineral & thermal water

The spring water is a naturally carbonated, bicarbonate-sodium mineral water with a pH of around 6.3 and a source temperature of roughly 17°C. The mineral-rich waters are valued for their soothing properties, said to help relieve stress, ease muscle and joint discomfort, improve circulation and aid the body's detoxification.

Thermal spa, pools & baths

Housed in a restored historic thermal building, the spa offers a full thermal circuit including:

• Heated indoor pool
• Sauna and Turkish bath (hammam)
• Sensory and jet showers, plus a Vichy shower
• Zen and relaxation rooms with views over the surrounding nature

A range of treatments is delivered by experienced therapists, from relaxing baths and invigorating hydromassages to therapeutic body wraps and specialised massages.

Accommodation & setting

Guests stay in 16 design eco-houses tucked into the park for privacy and immersion in nature. Beyond the spa, the park offers an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, tree-climbing (arborism), around 8 km of walking trails and the Pedras Experience Museum.
