A municipally owned thermal complex in central Poland drawing hypertthermal brine at 68 °C from three boreholes more than two kilometres deep, with indoor and outdoor brine pools, a five-cabin sauna floor and a cosmetics line made from the same water.

About

Termy Uniejów sits beside the castle park in Uniejów, a small town in the Łódź region, and is run by the municipal utility company PGK Termy Uniejów, set up by the commune in 2008 to manage the baths, a football pitch complex and the town's water and waste services. The water is the reason the resort exists: the operator draws it through three boreholes from more than two kilometres below the surface, describing it as hyperthermal and mineral, with a yield of 120 cubic metres an hour, a wellhead temperature of 68 °C and a low mineralisation of 7 grams per litre. The operator lists the Uniejów thermal brine against rheumatoid and degenerative joint disease, orthopaedic and post-operative conditions of the locomotor system, skin complaints, ear, nose and throat disorders, neuralgia and disc problems, and it also bottles the water into its own line of cosmetics.

Bathing is split between an indoor hall and a large outdoor terrace. Inside are a brine spa pool with hydromassage stations and rest areas, a brine graduation tower, and a shallow children's pool of 147 square metres built around a pirate ship, with depths from 0.5 to 1.2 metres. Outdoors the biggest basin is the 700 square metre recreation pool known as the Banana, flanked by a large brine spa pool of 216 square metres at 1.2 metres deep, a smaller 133 square metre brine pool, an island of jacuzzis, a rapid river, a water bar with its own bay, slides and sun terraces. A separate 25 by 9 metre swimming pool is kept cooler than the rest, between 25 and 27 °C, and reaches two metres at the deep end, while the toddlers' paddling zone with its castle is only 60 centimetres deep and held at 30 to 32 °C.

The sauna floor collects five heat rooms of increasing intensity: an infrared cabin at 35-50 °C, an aromatic steam bath at 38-43 °C, a Turkish bath at 43-46 °C, a sanarium at 45-60 °C and a banya-style sauna at 80-90 °C. Cooling and rest are handled by an ice pool at 10 °C, a snow chamber running between -5 and -13 °C and a sunny-meadow relaxation room; a separate spa and massage zone sits alongside. Pools open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, with an earlier 9:00 start in July and August, while the sauna floor opens only in the afternoon on weekdays and from morning at weekends.
