Stacja Nowa Gdynia – Aquapark

Stacja Nowa Gdynia is a privately run sport and recreation complex in Zgierz, on the northern edge of Lodz in central Poland, managed by Stacja Nowa Gdynia Sp. z o.o. The site combines a sports centre, a fitness and gym operation, a children's play world called Ancymondo and the aquapark, and the operator advertises the last of these as an aquapark for Lodz, which is how it is generally searched. Reception numbers are published separately for the halls and for the aquapark, and the aquapark keeps long weekday hours from 06:00 to 22:00 and shorter weekend and holiday hours from 08:00 to 20:00, a timetable the operator presents as allowing training before work and relaxation after it.

The pool hall holds a sports pool 25 metres long with six swimming lanes at a temperature of about 27 degrees, intended for regular training and technique work and fitted with LumaLanes, a moving LED pacing light that a lifeguard switches on at a bather's request and that is included in ordinary admission. Beside it is a recreation pool where the water is held at 33 to 34 degrees, and for small children a shallow basin up to 30 centimetres deep with water at 34 to 35 degrees, a slide and a water fountain. All the pools are filled with ozonated water, which the operator describes as gentle on the skin; nothing on the site describes it as thermal, mineral or brine.

The recreation zone is built around a water slide 57.5 metres long starting from a height of 5 metres, a pool with hydromassage stations fed by jets above and below the waterline, and a counter-current channel for swimming against the flow. The relaxation offer next to the water is a salt room with a quiet zone, a glazed interior looking out onto forest and a small brine graduation tower, a tezcnia solankowa. For sauna users there are dry sauna zones separated for women and men, where clothing is not worn, and a steam sauna directly beside the pool basin; the operator does not publish how many cabins there are.

Alongside open swimming the aquapark runs a programme of aqua fitness classes for mixed ages and abilities, led by instructors who adjust the intensity, and swimming instruction for infants, children, teenagers and adults at every level. Partner benefit cards are accepted. The complex is reachable by tram lines 11A and 11B to Helenowek, by bus line 89 and by the Lodz agglomeration railway, ten minutes from the Lodz Radogoszcz Zachod station.
