Terme di Trescore

Terme di Trescore is a curative thermal establishment ("terme curative") in Trescore Balneario, in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy. Its treatments are built around a naturally sulphurous, highly mineralised thermal water and are offered as medically indicated therapies, many of them available under agreement with the Italian National Health Service (SSN, Servizio Sanitario Nazionale).

Thermal water

The centre's water is classified as sulphurous, a category that under Italian standards requires at least one milligram per litre of hydrogen sulphide. Trescore describes its water as a "strong" sulphurous water with a sulfidrometric grade above 100, and states it is one of the few strong sulphurous waters in Italy. It is characterised as highly mineralised, with an elevated sulphur content and hydrogen sulphide present in various forms alongside other minerals. The site attributes to the water a mucolytic, anti-catarrhal, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating, microcirculation-reactivating and antioxidant (anti-free-radical) action.

Thermal baths and hydromassage

Treatment includes immersion in a tank of hot sulphurous water, typically at about 38°C (with a range of roughly 36–38°C depending on individual needs). A bath session lasts approximately 15 minutes and is followed by about 15 minutes of rest to allow the body to adjust and eliminate toxins through sweating. Hydromassage variants add ozonised water and underwater jets delivered at set pressures through nozzles to massage targeted areas; for phlebological problems it may be combined with pressotherapy, lymphatic drainage, sclerotherapy or laser therapy. The stated benefits include pain relief, improved mobility, better circulation, reduced symptoms of skin conditions and improved well-being.

Mud therapy (fangoterapia)

The mud is described as a mixture of a solid (organic and/or inorganic) component with mineral water. Trescore uses only natural mud, extracted from a quarry near the wells and then matured in dedicated tanks in contact with sulphurous water for a period of no less than six months. It is applied as a poultice at approximately 45°C for about 20 minutes, followed by a hot shower and a thermal bath. Mud therapy is presented as particularly useful for localised osteoarthritis and is often combined with physical or rehabilitative therapy. It is discouraged for people with cardiovascular problems, severe venous insufficiency or uncontrolled metabolic disease, and a physician's prescription is required for rehabilitation cycles.

Other therapies

The programme also includes a range of inhalation therapies (aerosol and sonic vibrating aerosol, gas inhalation/humage, steam-jet inhalation, micronised nasal shower and endotympanic insufflation), hydrotherapy and water-based kinesiotherapy, vascular pathways and colonic hydrotherapy, and physical and rehabilitative treatments such as physiokinesitherapy, manual and massage therapy, tecartherapy, TENS, pressotherapy and lymphatic drainage. Aesthetic and dermatological treatments are offered as well, including laser therapy (FP3 System and fractional CO2 resurfacing), bipolar radiofrequency, sclerotherapy and hair removal. On-site diagnostic services include audiometry, ECG, impedance testing, routine blood work and body-composition analysis.

The site lists conditions treated at the centre, including otitis, rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, chronic laryngitis, pharyngitis and tracheitis, simple and obstructive chronic bronchitis, localised and diffuse osteoarthritis, extra-articular rheumatism, outcomes of disc-herniation surgery, phlebolymphoedema, venous insufficiency, psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis and fibromyalgia.

Access and hours

Medical admission visits require advance booking by phone. Opening hours are set seasonally: across the 2026 schedule the baths generally open from 07:00, closing at 13:00 in some periods and at 18:00 (Monday–Friday) in others, with Saturday mornings 07:00–13:00 and closure on Sundays.
