The day thermal spa of Terme di Sirmione on the shore of Lake Garda, now called Spa & Thermal Garden, with indoor and outdoor pools of sulphurous salt-bromine-iodine water, a sauna circuit and lakeside relaxation rooms.

About

The spa known as Aquaria and now presented by the operator as Spa & Thermal Garden (the page title reads "Spa & Thermal Garden (ex Aquaria)") is the day-guest thermal facility of Terme di Sirmione, at Piazza Virgilio 2 in Colombare di Sirmione on Lake Garda. It is separate from the group's hotels, which have their own spas. The water comes from the Boiola spring beneath the lake: the operator writes that rain falling on the Monte Baldo catchment above 800 metres infiltrates the rock, gains minerals and heat and emerges at the spring after a twenty-year journey. The company describes the water as combining the therapeutic properties of sulphurous and salsobromoiodiche waters, bacteriologically pure, and hyperthermal in that it emerges at about 69°C; it is classed as a mineral water by its fixed residue at 180°C.

The plan published by the operator lists the individual zones. There is an outdoor thermal pool with hydromassage, effervescent loungers and swan-neck jets, 140 cm deep; an indoor thermal pool of sulphurous salsobromoiodica water, 90 to 120 cm deep; a vascular walk formed of two crescent-shaped pools with hydromassage at 24°C and 34°C; the circular DIVA hydromassage tub with ten stations; the MUSA cervical hydromassage tub with 22 cascade jets; and an Infinity Pool of fresh water overflowing towards the lake, kept at 30°C. The thermal pools and tubs are listed at 34°C in summer and 36°C in winter. Heat treatments include an outdoor Finnish sauna with a lake view, a sauna circuit of three Finnish saunas where the Aufguss ritual is performed, a Roman bath at 35-40°C, a steam bath at 40-45°C and a Turkish bath (hammam) at 40-50°C.

Beyond the water there is a lakeside solarium pier, a treatment area for massages and thermal treatments, several relaxation areas, a salt room, a music room, a starry-sky room, the three-part sound installation Il Viaggio dell'Acqua, and a bistro. Admission is by timed ticket (three- and five-hour entries among them) and booking through the online portal is required. Opening hours given on the page are Sunday to Thursday 9:00-22:00 and Friday to Saturday 9:00-24:00; the treatment area works Sunday to Thursday 9:30-21:00 and Friday to Saturday 9:30-23:00, and the bistro daily 9:00-21:30, to 23:00 on Friday and Saturday. Medical services, cure cycles under the Italian health service and specialist consultations belong to the separate Therapy District of the same company.
