About
QC Terme Pré-Saint-Didier is a thermal spa and wellness centre in the town of Pré-Saint-Didier, in Italy's Aosta Valley, set at the foot of Mont Blanc near Courmayeur. It draws on the town's natural thermal springs, whose waters emerge at a temperature of about 37°C, and organises them into a continuous wellness journey of pools, saunas and relaxation areas.
Thermal water
The spring water rises naturally at roughly 37°C. It is a saline-acidulous-arsenical-ferruginous water, rich in minerals including iron, silica and carbonates. These mineral properties are associated with the treatment of circulatory, joint and muscular complaints, and the springs have been valued since Roman times.
Pools and facilities
The wellness itinerary features indoor and outdoor thermal pools, including panoramic outdoor pools with views towards Mont Blanc, together with whirlpools, waterfalls, hot and cold water walkways, Kneipp paths, experience showers and hydrotherapy features. Saunas and Turkish baths (steam rooms) are distributed through the centre, alongside several relaxation areas. In all, the spa offers around 40 wellness practices as part of its journey.
Treatments and food
Beyond the pools and saunas, the centre provides massages and beauty treatments. The admission also includes Aperiterme, the spa's evening aperitif, as part of its food and wellness offering.
History
The town has been known for its thermal springs since Roman times. The thermal establishment dates to 1834, and the adjoining building that housed the Casino dates to 1888. For more than 150 years the baths were among the main attractions of the Aosta Valley and were a favoured retreat of the Italian royal family.
Visiting
Admission covers the full wellness journey together with a robe, towel and slippers, and access requires booking in advance. Pregnant women and children under the age of 14 are not admitted to the wellness centre. Opening hours vary by date and season.
