Spaßbad FaMos

Freibad faMos is the open-air leisure pool of Mosbach in northern Baden-Württemberg, run by the municipal utility Stadtwerke Mosbach alongside the town's indoor pool. The operator describes it as the largest recreational facility in the Neckar-Odenwald district and counts roughly 2.7 million visitors since the site was rebuilt in 1998. The swimming side is anchored by a 50-metre competition basin; the play side by a 75-metre giant slide that drops its riders straight into the water and which the utility treats as the bath's signature attraction.

Away from the water the grounds run to sunbathing lawns of more than 1,000 square metres, several table-tennis tables, swings and a sand play area, with a beach volleyball court laid out on clean, soft sand. Small children get a shaded bathing world of their own, protected by a sun sail, laid out with small fountains and a non-slip surface, and placed so that parents can keep it in view. Around 200 parking spaces sit directly in front of the entrance, and the bistro "Oase" handles food, ice cream and drinks through the day. Tickets are sold online as well as at the gate, and discounted season tickets go on advance sale in the spring before the pool opens.

The bath is strictly seasonal: it opens by mid-May at the latest and closes somewhere between the middle and the end of September depending on the weather, and it stays shut for the whole indoor-pool season. In 2026 it opened on 14 May. Hours run 08:00 to 20:00 from 14 May to 31 August and 08:00 to 19:00 from 1 September, with last admission thirty minutes and end of bathing twenty minutes before closing. A single adult ticket is 6.00 euros, a youth ticket 4.00, an adult season ticket 100.00 and a two-parent family season ticket 215.00; an after-work ticket valid on weekdays from 17:30 costs 3.00 euros and children under six enter free.
