Solymar-Therme

Solymar Therme is a thermal and wellness complex in Bad Mergentheim in the Tauber valley. According to the operator, the facility combines a thermal (vital and brine) bath, a sauna and spa area, and separate sport and family bathing zones under one roof.

Thermal water

The thermal bath comprises six different pools filled with healing water. All of them are supplied from Bad Mergentheim's Paulsquelle spring. The site states that the spring's salt content is 6 percent, held constant at 3 percent in the pools, and that the salt water contains magnesium, calcium and lithium. Water temperatures in the thermal area range from 34 degrees to 37 degrees Celsius.

Thermal pools

The operator describes distinct pools including a sole-mineral indoor pool, a lithium bath (37 degrees), a magnesium/Dead Sea pool (37 degrees), a calcium bath, a meditation pool with an artificial starry sky, and an outdoor mineral pool (33 degrees) of about 224 square metres with whirlpool and current channel. A textile steam bath (45 degrees, 100 percent humidity) is included with admission, and the site notes a sun terrace with panoramic views.

Sauna and spa

The sauna area offers six saunas, including a Biosauna (55 degrees), a wooden lodge sauna (Holzhaussauna, 90 degrees) for up to 100 guests, a steam room (Dampfbad, 50 degrees), a herbal sauna (Kraeutersauna, 65 degrees), a sound sauna (Klangsauna, 95 degrees), a Taubertal sauna (80 degrees) with hourly ceremonies, and an outdoor Himalaya salt sauna (75 degrees). The spa provides massages for face, neck, shoulders and feet in classic, aromatherapy-oil, anti-stress and prenatal variants, along with wellness-day packages.

Sport and family bath

A separate sport and family bathing area offers water attractions for both swimmers and families. A restaurant and a pool bar are listed among the on-site amenities.

Opening hours

The operator states the Vital- und Solebad (thermal bath) opens daily 9:00-22:00 and Friday and Saturday 9:00-23:00; the Sport- und Familienbad opens 7:00-22:00 daily (Monday and Wednesday 9:00-22:00); and the sauna opens 9:00-22:00 daily, 9:00-23:00 Friday and Saturday.
