Sachsen- Therme

Sachsen-Therme is a bathing, sauna and fitness complex in Leipzig, which the operator presents as a thermal bath and leisure pool in one and describes as more than a swimming pool. The site divides it into the experience worlds with the pools and slides, the sauna worlds, and the Vita Spa fitness and health club. The operator puts the sauna and wellness worlds at 3,500 square metres and lists up to 20 infusions a day led by trained infusion masters. Two dining outlets, a swimming school, aqua courses, children's birthday parties and school outings are also listed.

Pools

The site lists two giant slides that run straight into the wave pool, water fountains and a water cannon, a current whirl and a waterfall, a whirlpool grotto, diving towers at 1 and 3 metres, and a generous outdoor pool area. It gives the bathing water as a comfortable 31 degrees Celsius, with whirlpools at 35 degrees Celsius and bubble water massage loungers, and a 25-metre sports pool for lengths. The Vita Spa pages add a thermal pool at 32 degrees Celsius and outdoor pools with sun terraces.

Sauna and wellness

Across 3,500 square metres the operator names a Kelo sauna at 95 degrees Celsius, an earth sauna at 80 degrees Celsius, Finnish saunas at 100, 90 and 75 degrees Celsius, a Biosanarium, a eucalyptus sauna and a large steam bath. Infusion and wellness ceremonies are listed every hour, among them a fragrance journey, a birch branch infusion, a singing bowl ceremony and a beauty ceremony. The indoor area holds the infusion saunas, the steam bath, relaxation rooms and warm pools. In the sauna garden the site lists the Kelo and earth saunas, a warm and a cold water pool, a rest house with a sun deck, a planted garden with an ornamental pond and a barefoot path, with the Vita Bar alongside. The Vita Spa adds more than 100 strength and cardio machines, a free-weight area, a functional and stretching area and a programme of classes and aqua courses.

For children

The operator states that children love the water and that the youngest guests can move freely in the toddler area, which it describes as a child-friendly water world with slides, a paddling pool and water games. A toddler land with water games is listed among the experience worlds, and the site offers a swimming school, children's birthday parties and school outings. The restaurant provides a pirate box with a toy for children.

Dining

The Waves bistro inside the baths serves daily changing seasonal dishes, among them burgers, pasta and chips as well as salads, wok specialities and vegetarian dishes, with a terrace on fine days; the site lists it as open Monday to Sunday from 12:00 to 20:00. The Vita Bar by the saunas serves fresh fruit juices, cocktails and warm and cold food by a fireplace and is listed as open daily from 11:00 to 21:00.

Opening hours

The operator states that the water world and sauna paradise are open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, and the Vita Spa Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 21:00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 18:00. A midnight sauna is listed once a month from 20:00 to 24:00, and the site publishes separate hours for 24, 25, 26 and 31 December and 1 January.
