Laguna Badeland

Water parkWeil am Rhein, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Laguna Badeland in Weil am Rhein is a year-round leisure bath at the German-French-Swiss corner with five pools from 28 to 34 °C, three large slides, a summer open-air bath and a 3,000 m² sauna park whose outdoor pool is filled with Swiss brine in the colder half of the year.

About

Laguna is run by Laguna GmbH at Am Wasserwerk 2, 79576 Weil am Rhein, in the border region of Switzerland, France and Germany; the operator puts more than 750,000 inhabitants in the immediate catchment and about 450,000 visitors a year. The complex has three parts: the indoor Erlebnis-Badeland with a wave pool and children's paradise, a large open-air bath, and the Sauna Parc, described as 3,000 m² with seven themed saunas, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a plunge pool, an ice fountain, a Celtic steam bath, a whirlpool and a 4,000 m² garden.

The bathing hall publishes five pools with their temperatures: the wave pool at 30 °C, a 25-metre sports pool at 28 °C, an adventure pool at 34 °C, a children's paddling pool at 33 °C and an outdoor pool at 32 °C. The wave pool is described as over 40 m long under a large glass pyramid. The adventure pool covers over 170 m², with a water veil to dive through and a 60 m² broad wave slide. Two figures on this page disagree: the pool list gives the children's paddling pool as 33 °C, while the prose lower down on the same page calls it a paddling pool of 32 degrees, with cascade, spouting animals and a mini slide. Beyond those there are Champagner-Sprudelliegen with floor jets, massage nozzles and a waterfall, and separate whirlpools described as 34 °C.

Three large slides are listed: the Black Hole, a darkened tube of over 100 metres with light effects; a Wildwasserbahn; and a new funnel slide that drops riders from around ten metres into a vortex. No lengths are given for the latter two.

The water in the Badeland is plain heated water — the operator makes no thermal or mineral claim for it anywhere. Brine appears only in the sauna park, and only seasonally: the outdoor pool there is, in the operator's words, "von Herbst bis Frühjahr mit ca. 30° warmer SCHWEIZER SALINEN SOLE befüllt", that is filled with Swiss saline brine at about 30 °C from autumn to spring. No brine concentration is published.

The sauna page gives per-cabin temperatures: Damen-Sauna 85 °C at about 10 % humidity, Meditations-Sauna 90–100 °C, Alpenkräuter-Sauna 65 °C at about 30 %, Parc-Sauna 85 °C, Gipfel-Sauna 80–85 °C, Salzstein-Sauna 75 °C and Event-Sauna 90–100 °C with room for up to 100 people, plus the Keltenbad at 42–45 °C and about 100 % humidity. That is eight headed entries against the seven themed saunas the homepage counts; the Keltenbad is the site's Kelten-Dampfbad, a steam bath rather than a sauna, which accounts for the difference.

The Badeland opens Monday to Sunday and on German public holidays from 10:00 to 20:00, and the operator states it runs 364 days a year, closing only on 25 December. An adult day ticket is 20,00 € Monday to Friday and 21,00 € at weekends and on holidays, with a four-hour ticket at 16,50 € / 17,50 € and an evening tariff from 17:00 at 9,00 €; young people aged 6 to under 18 and reduced categories pay 17,00 € / 18,00 €, and children 0–5 pay 3,50 €. Combination tickets including the open-air bath cost 4,00 to 4,50 € more. Residents of Weil am Rhein aged 6 and over get a half-price day ticket on the first Tuesday of each month. The open-air bath is seasonal — the site announces its 2026 closure on 14 September — and a maintenance shutdown ran from 14 to 25 September 2026 for the Badeland and 14 to 18 September for the Sauna Parc.
