Bodden Therme

Bodden-Therme takes its name from the shallow coastal lagoon it stands beside, on Körkwitzer Weg on the northern edge of Ribnitz-Damgarten. It is run by a municipal company, Bodden-Therme Ribnitz-Damgarten GmbH, and it works as a town bath rather than a spa resort: the hall combines a 25-metre sports pool fitted with an electric lift for disabled swimmers, a wave pool reached by four steps, and a shallow children's pool. The operator publishes a water temperature for each basin, and the range is wide for a single building — 28 degrees in the sports pool, 32 in the wave pool, 33 for children, and 36 in the whirlpool outside the sauna.

The sauna area runs over two levels and mixes indoor and outdoor rooms. Inside there is an amber-panelled Sanarium at 60 degrees with raised humidity and colour light, an automatic Finnish infusion sauna at 87 degrees, a steam bath, a cold plunge basin, and Kneipp and foot-warming basins. Outside, a log-house sauna heated to 95 degrees stands next to a 65-square-metre heated basin at 32 degrees, a whirlpool and a naturist sunbathing lawn. A separate massage house sells treatments, including hot stone, to visitors who are not using the pools or the sauna at all.

Timetables are shaped by the town's schools and clubs. During term time the hall is closed to the public on Mondays and reserved for school and club swimming, opens on weekday afternoons from 14:00 to 21:00, and runs from 10:00 to 20:00 at weekends and on public holidays; mornings from Monday to Thursday are held for third-party bookings. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern school holidays the pool opens daily, and tickets are sold either for the pool alone or for the sauna with the bathing area included, in three-hour, day and evening rates.
