Combined indoor and outdoor pool of Stadtwerke Pirna in Sachsen: an outdoor pool from 1937 with a 50-metre pool and diving tower, and an indoor area from 2000–2001.
About
The Geibeltbad lies in the Südvorstadt district of Pirna, in the German state of Sachsen, and is operated by the municipal utility Stadtwerke Pirna. Its outdoor pool was completed in 1937, funded by the Geibelt Foundation, and an adjoining indoor leisure facility was built in 2000 and 2001.
The outdoor area centres on a 50-metre sports pool with a 10-metre diving tower carrying 1-, 3- and 5-metre boards, plus a non-swimmer pool and children's pools. A single water slide runs about 100 metres as an enclosed stainless-steel tube. Indoors there is a 25-metre pool with heated and cold sections and a steam bath.
Sauna and dining
The sauna complex holds six saunas, among them classic saunas, a milder bio-sauna and a Finnish Kelo sauna built with aged pine. A restaurant sits at the main entrance, with a snack terrace in the outdoor area.
