Freizeitbad "Wellenspiel Meißen"

Wellenspiel is the leisure pool of Meißen, on Berghausstraße on the eastern bank of the Elbe. Its water is divided between basins with quite different jobs. The sports pool has 25-metre lanes to competition measure and is 12.5 metres wide, can be split into five lanes when needed, and has a floor that rises from zero to 1.80 metres from the middle of the tank onwards, so the same pool serves clubs, lessons and non-swimmers; the water there is held at 28°C. A toddler pool beside the restaurant is kept at 32°C. The warmest water is the brine pool at 34°C, filled with natural brine at a concentration of three per cent, which the operator compares to the salinity of the North Sea. A further open-air swimming pool lies in the sauna garden.

The house is not only for lengths. Waves run on the hour from 11:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and Saxon school holidays, and an 85-metre stainless-steel slide descends under a glass roof. The diving installation carries 3-metre and 1-metre boards and opens at weekends, on public holidays and during school holidays; on weekday mornings school and club swimming can limit access. A family afternoon with a changing programme runs on Fridays from 15:00 to 17:50 outside Saxon school holidays.

The sauna world adds six cabins — a Finnish sauna, a Natursaunarium, a Finnish log-house sauna, a panorama sauna, a herbal sauna and a Roman steam bath — together with two experience showers and a large sauna garden. Infusions follow a published daily timetable, with early sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 08:30. Bathing is sold as a two-hour sport tariff, a four-hour tariff and an unlimited day ticket, and a combined ticket covers sauna and bathing together. The building opens Sunday to Thursday from 10:00 to 21:00 and on Fridays and Saturdays until 22:00.
