About
Freizeitbad Nautilust is a year-round indoor leisure bath with an attached outdoor area and a large sauna world, run in Gladenbach (Ferdinand-Köhler-Str. 42, 35075 Gladenbach) by Stadtmarketing-Energie-Bäder Gladenbach GmbH. The operator's own data sheet gives the swimming hall a net floor area of about 1,371 m² including water surfaces, and puts the total water area at about 1,130 m². It is broken down as follows: an indoor swimmers' pool of about 312 m²; an outdoor swimmers' pool of about 472 m² with a diving tower and diving pit and six 25 m lanes; an indoor non-swimmers' pool of about 125 m²; an indoor children's paddling pool of about 35 m² (about 472 m² indoors in total); an outdoor children's paddling pool of about 40 m² (about 658 m² outdoors in total); and an outdoor four-seasons pool of about 146 m². The hall also holds a steam bath, a tropical garden with a sun deck, an out-swimming channel, two solariums and a large flume given as about 52 linear metres. The operator publishes no water temperature for any of these pools.
The water is plain heated tap water. Neither the data sheet, the sauna pages, the price list nor the home page describes the water as brine (Sole), thermal or mineral, and a keyword sweep of those four pages found no such claim; nothing here comes from a spring or a well.
The sauna department has a net indoor floor area of about 440 m² and holds a classic Finnish sauna, a Bionarium, a steam bath, experience showers, a foot-warming pool, a rest room, a solarium, an ice fountain, a plunge pool, a fireplace room, a wooden sun-deck terrace and a sauna bistro with a vitamin bar. The sauna garden outside covers about 2,000 m² and contains further log-cabin saunas with cold showers, a lawn, a pond and wooden terraces, an outdoor pool of about 35 m² with a water depth of 1.25 to 1.35 m, and a Kneipp pool of 11 m². Two operator pages disagree on how many saunas stand in that garden: the Daten-und-Fakten sheet lists a single "Außensauna mit Kaltdusche", while the Saunaparadies page describes "zwei weitere Außensaunen (Saunablockhütten) - erweiterbar auf vier". The same two pages also disagree on whether the barefoot Gehwohlpfad is finished: the home page calls it "der neu angelegte Gehwohlpfad", the Saunaparadies page "der neu anzulegende Gehwohlpfad". No cabin temperatures are published. Above the bath sit 920 m² of fitness space with two course rooms and a gym, and 90 m² of physiotherapy with two treatment rooms and one therapy room.
Bathing and sauna areas open Monday to Friday 10:00-22:00, Saturday 10:00-21:00, and Sunday and public holidays 09:00-20:00; the summer outdoor area closes at 20:00 daily, early swimming runs Monday and Friday 07:15-08:45, and Tuesday is a women's sauna day (10:00-22:00). Last admission is 20:00 Monday to Friday, 19:00 Saturday and 18:00 on Sundays and holidays. Admission to the bathing area is 6.50 euro for two hours, 8.00 euro for three hours and 9.00 euro all day for adults over 18, and 4.50 / 5.50 / 6.00 euro for children and young people aged 4 to 17 and other reduced categories; a family tariff for two parents and up to three children costs 16.50 euro for three hours or 18.00 euro all day. The sauna world, which includes the bathing area, costs 14.00 euro for two hours, 16.00 for three, 19.00 for four and 21.00 euro all day for adults. The operator publishes no opening year.
