Bernsteintherme

The Bernsteintherme is a thermal and bathing complex attached to the Baltic Hotel in Zinnowitz on the island of Usedom. Its centrepiece is a Thermalbad filled with brine (Sole) of approximately 2.8 percent salt content, complemented by a Baltic seawater sports pool, two sauna areas and a café. The facility is connected to the hotel by a bathrobe corridor (Bademantelgang) and is open year-round; external visitors are admitted at set times alongside hotel and partner-hotel guests.

Thermal bath (Sole)

The Thermalbad is a brine pool; the site describes bathers feeling "das Prickeln der Sole" (the tingling of the brine) and states a salt content of roughly 2.8 percent. It comprises an indoor basin and an outdoor section fitted with massage jets and water fountains. Loungers and beach baskets (Strandkörbe) are provided for relaxation, and covered walkways link the bath to the beach sauna and the seawater pool.

Seawater pool

The Meerwasserpool is a 25-metre sports pool filled with fresh Baltic seawater (Ostseewasser). It includes a large non-swimmer area, a red water slide and a glass climbing wall reached directly from the water, and it has a poolbar serving coffee specialities, beer, wine, soft drinks, cake and small snacks. The site frames it for both lap swimmers and families.

Sauna world

The Saunawelt is split between two areas. The Finnish sauna area, next to the seawater pool, offers two cold showers, a spacious relaxation room and a plunge pool (Erfrischungsbecken). The Strandsauna (beach sauna) holds three different saunas plus a steam bath (Dampfbad) and gives direct access to the Baltic Sea for cooling off. Sauna use requires a separate ticket and is restricted to visitors aged 16 and over.

Catering

Café Bernstein serves guests during the day, and the seawater pool has its own poolbar.

Opening hours

As stated on the site: the Thermalbad is open daily 6.30–22.00, the Meerwasserpool daily 07.00–21.00, the Finnish sauna daily 10.00–21.00, the beach sauna daily 13.00–22.00, and Café Bernstein daily 11.30–16.00.

Admission (non-hotel guests)

Stated prices include a Happy Hour rate of €8.50 per person for one hour (07.00–10.00); a Baltic-Day-Spa day ticket (10.00–21.00) at €32.00 for adults, €17.00 for children aged 4–12 and free for children aged 0–3; and a 2-hour tariff of €12.00 per person with additional hours at €6.00. Sauna surcharges are €3.00 for the Finnish sauna and €6.00 for the beach sauna.
