AquariUM

AquariUM is the bath of the Uckermark town of Schwedt/Oder, part of the Stadtwerke Schwedt group. The water is ordinary heated pool water — the operator makes no thermal, mineral or brine claim on any of the pages read — and the house is divided into three parts: a Spaßbad, a Sportbad and a Saunalandschaft, with two fitness areas and a rehabilitation-sport department alongside.

The fun bath covers 600 m² of water surface and is held at 30–32 °C water and 32–35 °C air. Its published inventory is an 80-metre adventure slide („Erlebnisrutsche 80 m“) on which the rider chooses between sound and light effects — the operator notes that at the time of reading the speed measurement and the individual light and sound effects were only partly available because of technical problems — a fun pool with a current channel, a children's slide, massage jets, neck showers, a bubble pool, a toddler area, a pirate ship with floor bubblers and a waterfall, a play grotto with spray jets, and a gallery with a snack bar. The outdoor complex, with a heated outdoor basin, a toddler basin, a lawn and a playground, opens weather-permitting from roughly May to September. On Thursday afternoons outside the school holidays the fun bath basin is pre-heated for baby swimming, when the operator states the water reaches 34 degrees.

The sports bath holds a competition-standard 25-metre pool with eight lanes at 27–28 °C water and 29–31 °C air, an 8 × 21 m movable floor allowing depths to be set from 0.30 to 2.00 m, an electronic timing system for competitions, a teaching pool of 10 × 6 m at 1.30 m depth, spectator stands and lying areas.

The sauna landscape is enumerated rather than counted: Trockensauna, Erdsauna, Panoramasauna, Saunagarten, Dampfsauna, Sanarium, Infrarotkabine, Whirlpool, Tauchbecken, a rest room and a sauna bar. Published temperatures are 50 °C at 100 % humidity in the steam sauna, up to 110 °C in the wood-fired earth sauna set into a hill in the sauna garden, 80–90 °C in the Finnish panorama sauna with its large window onto the garden, 50–60 °C with colour-light therapy in the Sanarium, and 85–100 °C at under 25 % humidity in the dry sauna. Every Monday outside public holidays and school holidays the sauna area is women-only. Under-16s may use the sauna area only when accompanied by an adult, and under-7s the whole facility only when accompanied.

Hours: fun bath Monday to Friday 10:00–21:00, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 9:00–21:00; sports bath Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00–21:00, Tuesday and Thursday 7:00–21:00, weekends and holidays 9:00–21:00; in Brandenburg school holidays the weekend hours apply on every day. The sauna page contradicts itself on hours: it lists Monday to Friday 10:00–21:00 and weekends 9:00–21:00, and immediately beneath states „Bis auf Weiteres: Täglich 14:00 – 21:00 Uhr“ — both stand on the same page and the operator does not say which supersedes the other.

Published admission: fun and sports bath together €11.00 for three hours and €13.00 for a day ticket (reduced €7.50 / €9.50); fun bath alone €7.00 and €9.00; sports bath alone €5.00 for two hours, early swimming €4.50; sauna landscape €18.00 for three hours and €20.00 for a day ticket, including the fun and sports bath. Children under three are free. At the time of reading the bath was shut for its annual maintenance: „Aufgrund jährlicher Wartungsarbeiten bleibt das AquariUM vom 24. August bis 13. September komplett geschlossen.“
