About
Aqua Olsberg, which the operator also calls the Sauerlandtherme, stands at Zur Sauerlandtherme 1 in Olsberg in the Sauerland. The house is built on three stated pillars: sauna, brine and Kneipp applications, and sport and leisure. Olsberg is described as one of the oldest Kneipp spa towns in Germany and, since 2016, a Kneipp-Heilbad, and the operator presents the house as the only brine bath in the Sauerland that pursues Kneipp, wellness and health as consistently. The old domain aqua-olsberg.de now redirects to aquaolsberg.de, which is the operator's own site.
The brine section is described as consisting of two brine pools, a Kneipp box and a steam bath, with a brine garden outside. The indoor brine pool is a 32-degree bath prepared with Leinethaler natural brine, a mineral water the operator describes as brought up from deep strata; the outdoor brine pool holds the same natural brine at a constant 32 degrees and lies among green grounds, in use in every season. The leisure bath is described as a place for swimming, diving, jumping and relaxing: lanes are swum in the 28-degree water of the sports pool, there is a diving tower, and the water playing garden for children is kept at 32 degrees. A conservatory with loungers, tables and chairs leads out to the open-air pool, whose basin has a uniform water depth of 1.35 metres and is surrounded by extensive lawns.
The sauna landscape is described as the heart of the house, a forest sauna built of selected natural woods, rock and running water, and its section pages enumerate a panorama sauna, a sauna grotto, a Waldlichtung sauna, a Waldschwitze sauna, a rest house, a fireplace and rest area, a natural plunge pool and a sauna garden. This whole area is at present shut: the sauna page states that the section is currently closed, and the site-wide notice repeats that the sauna remains closed until further notice. The bath and brine sections are unaffected and the operator states that the brine bath including the steam bath, the indoor leisure bath and the open-air bath are available daily.
Opening hours are daily 09:00 to 21:00 for the leisure bath and daily 09:00 to 21:00 for the brine bath, with an additional early slot Tuesday to Friday from 07:00 to 09:00 reserved for holders of a sport ticket; the open-air pool follows the leisure bath's hours and depends on the weather, and the operator notes that changes are reserved. Leisure-bath admission is 6.00 euro for two hours, 7.00 euro for three hours and 8.00 euro for a day ticket for an adult, 5.00, 6.00 and 7.00 euro for a child, and 15.00, 18.00 and 21.00 euro for a family, defined as at least one adult with up to four children or at most two adults with up to three children; a weekend and public-holiday surcharge of 1.00 euro applies to single tariffs and 2.00 euro to family tariffs. The site also lists a motorhome pitch and free parking.
