About

Terme Cerkno is a thermal spa resort in Cerkno, in western Slovenia. The venue presents itself as the country's only thermal spa resort located so close to the Julian Alps, pairing a bathing complex with an attached town-centre hotel. At the time of writing the resort states that it is temporarily closed while the hotel undergoes renovation.

The water

The resort's thermal water is linked to the Idrija fault, the geological feature the site names as the origin of its thermal resource. The main indoor thermal pool is kept at 30 degrees Celsius.

Pools & saunas

Bathing centres on an indoor thermal pool held at 30 degrees Celsius, fitted out with aqua massage beds, pool geysers, a whirlpool, a waterfall and a hot tub. A separate children's wading pool is provided for younger visitors. The resort also runs a sauna area, which it describes as open throughout the year, alongside deck loungers set aside for relaxation.

Wellness

Beyond the pools, the resort offers a salt room and massage services. The site describes the salt room as a salt-therapy space and attributes to it benefits for respiratory and skin health, along with support for the immune system and relief for fatigue and sleep difficulties.

Visiting

The thermal spa and the town-centre Thermal Hotel Cerkno are both described as closed until further notice for the hotel renovation, so opening hours and ticket prices are not currently available on the official site. The resort is located in Cerkno, with the wider area also offering a ski centre, hiking and cycling.
