Thermal park Šírava

Thermal park ŠÍRAVA sits at Kaluža, on the southern slope above the Zemplínska Šírava reservoir in the Zemplín region of eastern Slovakia, and forms part of a resort that also runs the four-star Thermal ŠÍRAVA Hotel and the Residence ŠÍRAVA apartment house; the park's own address is Kaluža 780, 072 36 Kaluža. The domain thermalparksirava.sk now redirects to thermalsirava.sk, the resort site.

The water comes from the geothermal borehole GTH-1, which the operator describes as 940 metres deep, with a yield of 4 l/s and a water temperature of 40 °C. An earlier bore reached 594 metres; the operator states that the water in its present composition first flowed after the bore was deepened in 2012, which raised its mineralisation. The water is said to rise from water-bearing limestones and dolomitic breccias and to be 6,000 to 10,000 years old. Under a balneological assessment of 26 April 2014 the operator quotes a classification as a very highly mineralised, neutral, chloride-sodium natural mineral water with raised bicarbonate, fluoride, iodide, sodium, lithium and boron content, thermal and sulphurous, with the bracket "32°C -39°C"; this sits alongside the borehole figure of 40 °C given on the same page, and both are recorded here without choosing between them. Dissolved solids are given as 12.684 mg/l and hydrogen sulphide as up to 8.408 mg/l. The operator compares the water with that of the nearby Sobranecké kúpele.

The Vodný svet consists, in the operator's words, of four indoor pools (relaxation, massage, wave and children's pools) and four outdoor pools (two thermal pools, a massage pool and a rest pool), with water and air jets. The published pool table gives 28-33 °C for the indoor relaxation pool, 36 °C for the indoor massage pool, 28-32 °C for the wave pool, 32 °C for the children's pool, 36 °C for the outdoor thermal pools, 32 °C for the outdoor massage pool and 28-32 °C for the outdoor rest pool. The ticket page lists the same water world with a wild river, a swinging bay, a large and a small slide, loungers and a heated bench, but names only one massage pool where the pool table names two. Alongside is a Saunový svet 18+ listing an infrared sauna, a Finnish sauna, a herbal sauna, a steam sauna and SAUNA DOMO, with a timetable of sauna ceremonies, plus a Relax zóna and a Thermal SPA offering massages and treatments.

Opening hours are published as Monday to Sunday including holidays 10:00-21:00 for the Vodný svet and for Thermal SPA, and Monday to Thursday 13:00-20:30, Friday to Sunday and holidays 11:00-20:30 for the Saunový svet 18+ and the Relax zóna; the site is open all year and is not seasonal. The price list valid from 15 June 2026 gives a four-hour AQUA TICKET at the cash desk for 26 EUR for an adult, 19 EUR for juniors and seniors and 12 EUR for a child, an all-day AQUADAY TICKET at 33 / 26 / 17 EUR, and a RESORT TICKET covering the water world, the relax zone and Wellness 18+ at 47 / 38 / 25 EUR, with online prices about three euros lower.
