Termas do Gerês

Termas do Gerês is a historic thermal spa set in the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, in Vila do Gerês, Terras de Bouro. Operated as part of the Águas do Gerês Hotel, Termas & Spa, it combines a classical thermal establishment with a modern wellness centre.

Thermal water & source

The naturally emerging water is weakly mineralised, thiosulfated and sodium-bicarbonate in composition, and markedly alkaline (pH around 9). It reaches the surface at roughly 45°C and is traditionally recommended for liver, digestive, metabolic and rheumatic conditions.

The site includes a hotel and the Essentia restaurant, immersed in the landscape of Portugal's only national park, making it a base for both thermal cures and nature stays.
