About

Wodny Park Tychy is a water park in the southern part of Tychy in Polish Silesia, beside the woods of the Pszczyna Forest on ul. Sikorskiego. It was built for the city by Regionalne Centrum Gospodarki Wodno-Ściekowej S.A., the municipal water and sewage company, which was given the task by the town in 2012 and still owns and operates the facility. The Polish Wikipedia article states that it opened on 30 April 2018 and holds 1,200 people at a time. An unusual feature of the operation is its energy supply: the company states that the park is fed with biogas from the Tychy sewage treatment plant, upgraded to biomethane and piped to an on-site plant that covers the park's entire electricity and heat demand.

The water is not thermal. The operator publishes pool temperatures of about 32 °C in the recreational pools, about 29 °C in the sports pool and about 33 °C in the children's paddling pools. The recreational zone is built around a wave pool of close to 400 m² with an artificial wave run in cycles, a rapid river, geysers, waterfalls and neck massages, and underwater loudspeakers; part of the basin is up to 1.2 m deep and set aside for non-swimmers. A connected lagoon of 81 m² sits behind a curtain of falling water. The sports zone has a 25-metre pool 12.5 m wide with six competition lanes, and a 12.5 by 8 m teaching pool with a movable floor adjustable between 30 cm and 180 cm.

The sauna zone contains two steam rooms, given as roughly 45 to 60 °C with humidity up to 100 per cent, and five dry saunas. The largest is the outdoor Daisy sauna, opened in 2023, with four tiers of benches for more than 110 people, multimedia fittings and temperatures up to 110 °C; guided sauna rituals are run there and in the Sauna Książęca and Tyska Bania. A graduation tower circulates brine over blackthorn branches for salt-air inhalation, and a separate beer-bath area uses hops, barley malt and water. Further facilities include a surf simulator described as the first in a Polish pool venue, the SPA Książęce treatment area, a floating tank, a fitness zone and an osteopathy and physiotherapy practice.

Zones keep separate hours, revised on 1 September 2026. The sports zone opens 06:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 22:00 at weekends and on holidays; the recreational zone 10:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 22:00 at weekends; the slide zone from 12:00 on weekdays; the sauna zone from 15:00 on weekdays and 12:00 at weekends; and the surf zone Wednesday to Friday 16:30 to 21:00 and 13:00 to 21:00 at weekends.
