Terme di Petriolo

Terme di Petriolo is a thermal spa set in the Basso Merse natural reserve in the municipality of Monticiano, in the province of Siena, Tuscany. Its waters rise from a spring on the bank of the Farma stream, and the site states the springs have been known since Roman and Etruscan times.

Thermal water

The spring supplies hyperthermal water at a temperature above 43°C. The water feeds therapeutic thermal pools and is used with ozonized hydromassage. The venue does not state the water's mineral composition.

Treatments and therapies

The spa presents a range of treatments grounded in its thermal water. Balneotherapy (thermal bathing) is offered to help treat various chronic conditions of the body. Mud therapy, applied at 47°C, is described as having anti-inflammatory, analgesic and muscle-relaxing effects. The spa sits within a natural reserve of woods and hills. On site the Bistrot di Petriolo serves Tuscan cuisine, including appetizers and dinner. The Locanda di Petriolo is offered as partner accommodation under a convention agreement.
