Terme di Montepulciano

Terme di Montepulciano is a thermal and medical wellness centre in the town of Montepulciano, in the province of Siena, Tuscany. According to its official site the centre was established in the late 1960s and combines state-recognised thermal cures with physiotherapy, rehabilitation, diagnostics, sports medicine and a dedicated wellness area. It is located at Via delle Terme 46, and is open to the public Monday to Saturday.

Thermal water

The waters that rise beneath the establishment are described as sulphurous and salt-bromine-iodine (salsobromoiodiche), rich in carbon dioxide. The site attributes anti-inflammatory and curative properties to the water and applies it across several medical specialities. Thermal cures and treatments

Thermal treatment is organised around several medical fields: otorhinolaryngology, bronchopneumology, rhinogenic deafness, rheumatology, orthopaedics, phlebology and dermatology. Respiratory and ENT care uses inhalation-based therapies including warm-humid inhalations, nasal-oral aerosol, micronised showers, collective nebulisation, and sonic and ionic aerosol, indicated for conditions such as pharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, recurrent tonsillitis, bronchial asthma and allergic disorders. For rheumatic and orthopaedic conditions the centre offers mud therapy (fangoterapia) and balneotherapy, described as suited to inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic conditions including osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and back pain. Wellness and grotto

The wellness area centres on a "Grotta lunare" (lunar grotto) with a saline pool, presented as a space for relaxation. The wellness offering also includes sensory pathways, manual facial and body treatments and holistic massages.

A diagnostic and specialist centre offers medical visits including osteopathy and cardiology, and a sports-medicine service issues fitness certificates for competitive and non-competitive activity.

Opening and visiting

The thermal centre and the physiotherapy centre are open Monday to Saturday, 8:00–12:00. For the 2026 thermal season the site states the centre opens to the public from 9 March 2026, Monday to Saturday 8:30–12:30.
