Calidario Terme Etrusche is a natural thermal complex in Venturina Terme, within the Costa degli Etruschi area of Tuscany. Its centrepiece is a natural spring (Sorgente Naturale) whose warm, mineral water fills a lake of more than 3,000 square metres, complemented by a Thermarium wellness path, a boutique hotel and a restaurant.

Thermal water

The site states that the water surfaces at about 36°C in any period of the year, with an average bathing temperature of around 33°C. Flow varies with rainfall and underground pressure, ranging from a minimum of roughly 100 to a maximum of about 450 litres per second. During its long underground passage the water is enriched with calcium, magnesium and sulfates. Calidario describes the water as taking up to fifty years to filter through the layers of earth, and the wider hydrogeological ecosystem as originating around six million years ago within the Val di Cornia; the site presents it as one of the more significant geothermal phenomena in Europe.

The natural spring

The thermal lake covers over 3,000 square metres and is used for immersion in the open air. According to the site the minimum age for entry to the spring is 6 years, advance reservation is required, and outside food is not permitted.

Thermarium (spa and wellness)

The Thermarium is described as a wellness path (percorso benessere) inspired by Etruscan bathing traditions. Stated features include a sauna, a Turkish bath (bagno turco / steam bath), cold aromatic showers, hydromassage cascades and massage rooms. The site notes a minimum age of 14 for this area (with adult supervision) and advises against use by people with cardiovascular conditions.

Hotel and restaurant

The complex includes a boutique hotel set on the surrounding hills, and the Aqvolina Restaurant & Lounge Bar, which the site describes as using seasonal, fresh ingredients. A shop offering vouchers and cosmetic products is also listed.

Opening hours

For the natural spring the site lists opening from 9:30 to 20:30 during March–June and September–January, and 9:30 to 23:30 in July and August, with a seasonal winter closure (approximately early January to mid/late March). The Thermarium is listed with separate hours of 10:00 to 20:00.
