Laugarás Lagoon

Laugarás Lagoon is a geothermal bathing lagoon set on the banks of the Hvítá river in Laugarás, South Iceland, near Selfoss. It is designed around a philosophy of harmony between people and the surrounding nature.

Geothermal water

The lagoon is filled with geothermal heated water kept at around 38–40°C (100–104°F).

• Two lagoon bars serving drinks while you relax in the warm water
• A waterfall nearly 7 metres wide and a quiet cave shelter
• Hot spring pools including a forest pool and an infinity-edge pool overlooking nature

Ylja restaurant, led by chef Gísli Matthías Auðunsson, serves a menu built on fresh, local ingredients, including a two-course day menu.

The lagoon sits at Skálholtsvegur 1 in the countryside of South Iceland, along the Hvítá river in the Laugarás area.
