Thermal Spa

Flexum Thermal & Spa is a certified medicinal thermal bath in Mosonmagyaróvár, in north-western Hungary. The complex covers 3.5 hectares and combines medicinal and adventure pools, swimming pools, children's water play areas and a sauna world, all supplied by the town's deep thermal water.

The water

The thermal water is drawn from a depth of 2000 metres and emerges at 74°C. The site describes it as a sodium hydro-carbonate water containing fluoride. It is used therapeutically for degenerative joint and spinal conditions, chronic arthritis and rheumatic complaints, for recovery from locomotor injuries, and for gynaecological and skin (eczema) complaints. The bath is recognised as a certified medicinal facility.

Pools

The complex lists thirteen pools of differing purposes and temperatures. The medicinal pool measures 340 m² and is held at 36-39°C, and there is a sitting pool of 255 m² at 34-37°C. A dedicated underwater weight-bath (traction) pool runs at 35-37°C. For swimmers there is a 33-metre pool of 666 m² kept at 22-27°C and a 25-metre pool of 400 m² at 24-28°C. Three adventure pools operate at temperatures between 30 and 36°C, including one styled as the "Flexum Jungle". Warmer, shallow pools for the youngest visitors (baby, child and spray-park areas) sit at 30-32°C and run seasonally from May to September, and there are jacuzzi and hotel sitting pools around 35°C.

Sauna world

The sauna world contains five cabins plus a cold plunge. It offers a wet sauna at 90-95°C, a dry sauna at 85-90°C, a large sauna at 90-95°C seating up to 40 people, a steam cabinet at 43-46°C, and a salt room at room temperature. A cold immersion pool is held at 13-15°C. Sauna use is restricted to visitors aged 16 and over. Sauna entry is priced at around 3,800-3,850 HUF and requires a bath ticket; towel rental is available separately.

Treatments and facilities

Therapeutic services listed include a carbonated ("sénsavas") bath, Hévíz mud packing, BEMER pulsed-magnetic therapy, therapeutic massage and the underwater weight-bath, with week-long treatment packages available; a separate Flexum Medical Center is also referenced. On-site catering includes the Viva la Lángos and Coral Pizza & Restaurant outlets, and accommodation is available. Facilities for children include a water play park, a spray park, slides, a playhouse and swimming lessons.

Visiting

The bath is open daily from 08:00 to 20:00, with pool use ending at 19:30. Adult day tickets (including a locker) are quoted at 6,300 HUF off-peak and 7,000 HUF in peak season, with reduced rates for children, students and visitors with reduced mobility, plus season tickets and family packages. Paid parking is available. The bath is located at Kolbai Károly utca 10, Mosonmagyaróvár.
