Nordseetherme

Nordseetherme is a family water and sauna complex run by the Esens-Bensersiel tourism board at Am Strand 8, by the North Sea coast in Bensersiel. The bathing area centres on a themed family zone with a pirate ship and a paddling pool for young children, plus a 100-metre slide. Visitors who want to unwind can use a relax pool with bubble loungers, a steam bath (Dampfbad), and a large brine pool (Solebecken); the operator describes its saline water as mineral-rich, able to stimulate metabolism and support the immune system. Aquafit water-aerobics runs regularly in the pool area, and a family bistro serves snacks and drinks. A separate sauna world runs at 60-95 degrees Celsius: a 95C Finnish Aufguss sauna for about 40 people with hourly steam infusions, a 90C Banja sauna built from Kelo pine with birch-sap infusions, a 90C Finnish dry sauna without infusions, and a milder 60C Sanarium; the sauna area is textile-free (FKK). A sauna garden with beach chairs surrounds an outdoor cold-water plunge pool 1.30 metres deep with underwater lighting and a waterfall. Day tickets cost 8 euros for adults, 4 for children, for two hours; 10 and 5 euros for four hours, plus a non-discountable 7-euro sauna surcharge.
