About
The baths are closed for renovation until 4 December 2026. The notice appears at the head of every page of the operator's site in three languages; the pools shut on the evening of 6 September 2026. Access to the sauna and the hammam was already closed for works after a fire, the treatment institute is shut and the apartments are unavailable. The works are described as renovation and enlargement of the pools, financed with European Union and Occitanie regional support.
Bains de Llo sits on the Route des Gorges at Llo, in the Cerdagne at the eastern end of the French Pyrenees, above the gorges of the Sègre. Its water is a natural sulphur and mineral spring which the operator gives as above 35 degrees Celsius in winter and 34 degrees in summer. Sulphur and sodium dominate; the operator attributes to the water an effect on rheumatic and muscular pain and on skin and hair, and notes that warm water eases mineral absorption through the skin and that immersion aids lymphatic drainage.
Before the closure the establishment offered five pools, outdoor and indoor, arranged as a signposted Parcours Vitalité: a large swimming basin at 35 degrees, a Spa Tonique and a Spa Relaxant both at 35 degrees, and an indoor basin and indoor jacuzzi at 37 degrees, which were opened to the air for the summer. Around thirty stations make up the thermo-ludic area, among them massage hydrojets, bubble benches, water cannons aimed at the neck and shoulders, and floor jets for feet and calves. A separate wellness section held a sauna, a cold-water walk, a mountain hammam and a sensory hammam.
Bathing was sold in two-hour admissions at 16 euros for adults, 12 euros for children under twelve and 3 euros for under-threes, with an online adult rate from 18 euros and family and group rates. Annual cards ran from 220 euros for one person excluding the Christmas and February school holidays to 920 euros for four people including them. Aquagym classes on Monday and Saturday mornings outside school holidays were included in admission. Published summer hours were 10:00 to 20:00 daily, with the pools cleared fifteen minutes before closing. The operator also runs a Spa Nature treatment institute using Phyt's natural cosmetics and rents apartments on site.
