Eski Kaplıca

Eski Kaplıca ("the Old Thermal Bath") is Bursa's oldest thermal bathing complex, set in the historic Çekirge district where thermal healing has drawn visitors since ancient times. Today it forms the heart of the Kervansaray Termal Hotel, which offers guests free access to the historic hamam.

Thermal Water & Source

The bath is fed by oligo-metallic, hypotonic mineral water with a temperature of 44 °C, rich in bicarbonate and calcium ions. The waters have long been valued for rheumatic diseases, orthopaedic rehabilitation, gastrointestinal and vascular conditions, urinary tract diseases, diabetes and gout.

The Historic Hamam

The bath has been in use since the Roman era and, according to legend, was linked to the beauty and youth of the Byzantine empress Theodora. It was substantially rebuilt in 1389 under Sultan Murad I on the site of a Byzantine-era spring, with further major restorations in 2013 and when the modern hotel opened. The hamam is arranged into separate sections for women, men and families, the family section featuring four private chambers named Huma, Hafsa, Hürrem and Kösem Sultan.

Pools & Wellness

Beyond the historic bath, the property offers thermal spa pools, a heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool (available free to guests in the summer season), alongside a health club, sauna and fitness centre. Massage and exfoliation (kese) services are available for an additional fee, and the family bath can be reserved separately.

Hotel & Dining

The Kervansaray Termal Hotel combines this Ottoman heritage with post-modern design across 198 rooms with minimal, contemporary decoration, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout and in-room amenities. Dining includes breakfast served buffet or plated depending on occupancy. The thermal department is open every day of the week from 07:00 to 22:00.
