Complexo Aquático de Santarém

The Complexo Aquático de Santarém is operated by the municipal company Viver Santarém E.M., S.A. The operator presents it as one facility in two parts: "Dividido em duas valências, Piscinas Interiores e Piscinas Exteriores" — indoor pools and outdoor pools. The outdoor side is the water park and is seasonal: "A área exterior do Complexo Aquático apenas está aberta ao público durante a época balnear." The indoor side runs through the year on its own timetable, so the complex as a whole is not a summer-only operation.

The outdoor park is described by enumeration rather than by a total. The operator lists "uma piscina recreativa, com dois jogos de água e uma cascata, um jacuzzi, escorregas com 3 pistas fofas e dois em caracol, piscina de ondas, um chapinheiro para bebés e uma piscina para crianças": a recreational pool with two water games and a waterfall, a jacuzzi, slides comprising three mat racer lanes and two spiral flumes, a wave pool, a baby splash pool and a children's pool. The Piscinas e Atrações section repeats this as two lists — pools: Piscina Infantil, Piscina de Bebés, Piscina de Ondas, Piscina Recreativa; attractions: Pistas Fofas, Escorrega Infantil, Tubos, Piscina de Ondas, Jacuzzi, Piscina Recreativa. Around the water is a lawn with roughly a hundred thatched parasols ("uma centena de colmos"), a sun-lounger zone, a bar with a terrace, a restaurant on the first floor run by a partner, coin-operated lockers in the changing rooms and a first-aid post. Minimum heights are published for the slides: 90 cm to 1.50 m on the children's slides, 1.10 m on the mat racers and tubes.

The indoor pools were inaugurated on 1 October 2002 and hold three bodies of water: a 25 m by 21 m eight-lane sports pool with a 420-seat stand, a 16.65 m by 11 m learner tank and a 6.15 m by 2.75 m paddling pool, plus ten changing rooms and a multi-purpose room. Their timetable is Monday to Friday 08:00–22:30, Saturdays 08:45–19:00, Sundays and public holidays closed. The water is plain treated pool water throughout; the operator nowhere describes it as thermal, mineral or seawater, publishes no water temperature, and lists no sauna.

Season and hours for the outdoor park: the FAQ gives the season as "Entre o mês de maio ao mês de setembro de segunda a domingo, feriados inclusive" and names 28 May 2026 as the opening date of that season. The operator contradicts itself on when the water closes. The main page states "O Complexo Aquático de Santarém está aberto todos os dias, incluindo feriados, das 10h às 19h" and adds "Os planos de água encerram às 18:30", while the FAQ on the same page gives "entre as 10h00 e as 19h00 (encerramento dos planos de água às 18h45)" before elsewhere answering that the water closes at 18:30. The box office runs 09:00–17:30.

Admission is public and ticketed, with no membership or residence condition. In August a full-day adult ticket is 18,20 € at the gate and 16,00 € online; children aged 4 to 12 and visitors over 65 pay 12,00 € and 10,50 €; babies up to 3 are free. On weekdays outside August the same tickets are 13,00 € and 11,50 € for adults, 8,20 € and 7,00 € for children and over-65s, and half-day afternoon tickets from 14:30 are sold only at the complex's own box office, at 8,00 € for adults. Family tickets for one or two adults with one or two children are listed separately, and each additional child costs 5,50 € bought in person. Loungers, parasols, thatched shades and the reserved Zona Conforto areas are rented on top of the ticket. Visitors who leave during the day may re-enter with a wristband.
