Negorci Spa Resort

Negorski Banji (Negorci Spa) is a modern health and tourist centre for prolonged treatment and rehabilitation, set 3 km from Gevgelija at the foot of Mount Kozuf, surrounded by a rare ash-tree forest that forms a natural park of about 22 hectares.

Thermal-mineral water & springs

The beneficial effect of the mineral waters has been documented since 1864, with scientific evidence of their healing properties dating from 1950, when the spa was established. The area has two springs, the "Hot Bath" and the "Cold Bath": the water in the hot bath has a temperature of 40 °C and the cold bath 37 °C. The water contains calcium, magnesium, rubidium, cesium, radon and other minerals.

Baths, pools & therapies

A pool is available and its use is included for board guests. A team of physical-medicine and rehabilitation specialists, a general practitioner, nurses, physiotherapists and masseurs provide care. Available therapies include:

• Electrotherapy (diadynamic, interferential, galvanic, electrophoresis, electrostimulation)
• Sonotherapy (ultrasound), phototherapy (infrared and ultraviolet lamps) and Biotron lamp
• Vacuum therapy, laser and magnetotherapy
• Kinesiotherapy (group and individual) and hydrokinetics
• Spinal-column extension and paraffin therapy
• Underwater massage and manual (relaxation, medical and spa) massage

The waters are used to treat rheumatic, degenerative bone and joint, post-surgical, neurological, gastrointestinal, skin, urinary, cardiovascular, gynaecological and respiratory conditions, as well as osteoporosis and latent diabetes. The centre has an agreement with the Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Macedonia.

Accommodation & dining

The complex offers accommodation in three hotels of different categories, Bozur, Jasen and Kala (accommodation quality was significantly upgraded in spring 2007). There are two restaurants and a summer garden serving healthy food and specialities from the south of Macedonia; the hotel inn-restaurant has a capacity of 250.

Recreation & setting

Facilities for sport and recreation include a small exercise room, three football fields, running and walking paths and cycling trails through the ash forest. The mild climate makes the site a regular training base for sports teams.
