Sportiom AquaFun

AquaFun is the recreational bath of Sportfondsen Sportiom, a multi-sport complex at Victorialaan 10 in ’s-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch) run by Koninklijke Sportfondsen, which also houses an ice rink, bowling, minigolf and a fitness club. The database row is the bath rather than the whole complex: the operator's own page presents AquaFun as «ons zwembad», a themed swimming paradise, while the ice and bowling activities sit on separate pages of the same site. The water is plain heated pool water; the operator's pages for the bath and for its wellness area never use the words thermaal, mineraal or bronwater and name no spring.

The bath is themed throughout. Its own description names fast slides, a wave pool («het golfslagbad»), and a tyre slide ridden in a ring, with a terrace and a restaurant for breaks between sessions and, for small children, a toddler pool and a water playground. Sportfondsen Sportiom states that it has five slides in total, one of them inside a spray park, a separate area for small children to play with water; the other four are named individually as the Adventure Slide, the Speed Slide, the Wildriver and the Duo Racer, each with a minimum age of 8 for unaccompanied riding. An outdoor pool with a sunbathing lawn adjoins the hall and is open in good weather and with enough supervisors on duty, always from the May school holiday to the end of August, though the operator says it cannot announce in advance whether it will be open on a given day. Children without an A swimming certificate must wear armbands and stay under the direct supervision of an adult in swimwear who holds a certificate.

Posted hours for AquaFun are Wednesday and Thursday 14:30–19:00, Friday 14:30–21:00 and Saturday and Sunday 10:00–17:30, with Monday and Tuesday shown as 00:00–00:00, that is closed to recreational swimming. Every Friday evening from 18.00 to 21.00, outside school holidays, the bath runs a disco swim. Admission is €20,50 at the desk and €17,50 as an e-ticket, with off-peak Wednesday-to-Thursday tickets at €16,50 and €13,50, €4,95 for children up to and including three years old bought at the till, and a €0,50 refundable locker coin. A separate wellness room belongs to the fitness club, not to AquaFun, and is accessible only without swimwear; it enumerates a sauna cabin, a whirlpool, a foot bath, a plunge bath, a therapy bath, a steam cabin, a relaxation room, a sunbed and a roof terrace with a six-person bubble bath, at €19,95 for a day.
