Bologna thermal bath at Borgo Panigale with a dynamic thermal pool, wellness pool, indoor river, Kneipp walk, sauna and hammam on one day ticket.

About

Terme San Luca - Pluricenter is a thermal bath on Via Agucchi in the Borgo Panigale district of Bologna, one of five centres run under the Mare Termale Bolognese brand by TRE EFFE s.r.l. The building began as the Pluricenter fitness club in the 1980s and became a thermal establishment when its thermal pools opened; the operator describes it today as combining thermal cures, thermal fitness, gym courses, treatments and aesthetic medicine on one site.

The water comes from a single captation, Alexander 2, authorised by the Italian health ministry in July 2010. It is a bicarbonate-sulphate-calcium water drawn at 15.45 degrees Celsius from the same underground basin as the Alexander spring that feeds Terme Felsinee, with a dry residue of 541.25 milligrams per litre and, in the operator's phrasing, eighteen trace elements. Because the water emerges cold it is heated for the pools. The ministry recognises it for balneotherapy and mud therapy in arthro-rheumatic disease and in motor and neuromotor rehabilitation.

A single admission opens the whole thermal area without a booking. The operator lists a dynamic thermal pool with in-water classes, a separate wellness pool, a Fiume Grand Canyon water channel with a grotto, a Kneipp walk, a sauna, a hammam, a snow fountain, a hot-cold inferno-paradiso circuit, a plunge well, a summer solarium and a relaxation room. Day admission with gym use is 30 euros, with cheaper morning and afternoon slots and a 15-euro child rate from age seven; children of six and under are not admitted. Opening is Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 21:30, with late Friday and Saturday hours to midnight and Sunday 10:00 to 20:00, and bathers must leave the thermal area half an hour before closing. Aufguss sauna rituals and evening notte termale sessions run on set days.

The centre also operates as an accredited health facility: it is contracted to the Italian national health service at the highest classification band, and runs mud therapy, balneotherapy, inhalation treatments, hydrokinesitherapy, an accredited outpatient clinic and diagnostic imaging alongside the public bathing. A guided water-exercise programme for fibromyalgia is offered in the thermal pool. A first-time bather returning for a second visit, or anyone buying a season pass, must take a 35-euro intake medical examination.
