Water parkCampi Bisenzio, Italy

A year-round sports and leisure water complex at Campi Bisenzio near Florence, whose indoor water park with 12-metre slides runs through the winter and whose outdoor pools and sun terrace open for the summer season.

About

Hidron stands at Via di Gramignano snc, Campi Bisenzio 50013, in the province of Florence. The operator spells the name Hidron throughout its own site, including the domain hidron.it, whereas this database records it as Hydron. It is a combined fitness, swimming and leisure complex rather than a thermal or mineral bath: the site makes no claim of a spring, a thermal source or a water analysis, and no water temperatures are published on the pages read, so no figures are given here. Alongside the water park the site carries a gym, group classes, personal training, padel courts, a restaurant, a swimming school, a baby-swimming programme and medical consulting rooms.

The water plant is described as four indoor pools dedicated to sporting activity plus one outdoor pool available for the summer period. The indoor set consists of a Vasca Grande of 25 metres reaching 2 metres deep, used for free swimming, adult swimming school, competitive swimming, synchronised swimming and lifesaving; a Vasca Gym of 14 metres and 1.3 metres deep for water fitness, private lessons and Multisystemic Aquatic Therapy (TMA); a Vasca Piccola of 12 metres and 1.3 metres deep for Acqua Gym and Acqua Bike group courses, neonatal swimming and the children's swimming school; and a Vasca Ludica given over to recreation.

In its water-park guise the same halls read differently. The indoor park is presented as open all year, including through the winter season, with slides, pools, hydromassage and inflatables in the water; on winter Sundays half of the 25-metre pool is converted into an inflatable aquatic course. The Vasca Ludica carries hydromassage zones, vortices, seating and geysers, and from it guests reach what the operator calls the site's principal attraction: slides 12 metres high running a course of more than 60 metres. A dedicated baby area for ages 3 to 6 has shallow water, a small castle with a slide and water toys, with seating for parents around it.

The outdoor park opens only for the summer season. Its Vasca Grande is 50 metres long and up to 2 metres deep, mixing technical swimming and fitness use with aquatic inflatables; on Saturdays and Sundays that pool is given over exclusively to bathing. The Atollo is a semicircular pool with steps and a covered station with seating in the water where drinks can be taken. The Oasi is the sunbathing area laid out around the water park with more than 130 stations of loungers and parasols that can be booked, including a quieter zone reserved for members; the introductory text on the same page puts the figure at more than 150 stations with lounger and parasol, and the two statements are reported here as they stand rather than reconciled. A second baby area of shallow water for ages 3 to 6 has two mushroom fountains.

The published hours are also inconsistent on the same page. The indoor water park is listed as Saturday and Sunday 09:00–19:30 and the outdoor park as Saturday and Sunday 10:00–19:30, while a notice above them states that from Monday 16 September access to the water park will be permitted only on Sunday from 09:00 to 19:30. Summer admission is published: a day ticket with changing-room service costs €15,50 for adults and €13,00 for children and over-65s, and a half-day ticket with changing-room service costs €13,00 for adults and €11,00 for children and over-65s. Tickets can be bought in advance through the operator's app or web shop.
