Centro del Benessere Termale "Thermae Oasis" SPA

Thermae Oasis stands at Lido delle Nazioni, on the lagoon side of the Po delta park a short walk from the Adriatic, inside the grounds of the Camping Village Tahiti in the province of Ferrara. Its water comes from the Ca' Rossa spring, which the operator places directly beneath the centre at a depth of about 380 metres and gives as 19.6 °C at the wellhead. The water is classed as salsobromoiodic and of marine origin: highly saline, rich in chlorides, bromides and iodides, with calcium, magnesium, sulphates, bicarbonates and sulphides among the trace elements. Because the source itself is cool rather than hot, the bathing circuit is tempered to a range of working temperatures rather than fed straight from the well.

The bathing area is called the Giardini del Benessere, an open-air hydrotherapy route laid out among rockwork and mock ruins. Rather than quote a pool count, the operator names thirteen stations and gives a temperature for most of them: a leg-treading thermo-vascular walk (Appia, 22 to 28 °C), several waterfall stations at 19 to 23 °C for back, shoulder and neck work, hydromassage basins at 25 and 26 °C including one with a geyser and a water bike, warmer skin-conditioning tubs at 28 and 30 °C, a Roman steam bath named Caesar, and at the two ends of the range Stige at 34 °C and the cooling Naide at 22 °C. Sun-loungers are set between the basins for heliotherapy, and children over four are admitted to the pools during the morning only.

Next to the gardens the site runs a medical thermal department and a beauty centre. The published therapies are inhalation and ear-nose-throat courses, a separate inhalation course for children, mud and balneotherapy, treatment for rhinogenic deafness and for peripheral vascular disease, and the balneotherapy cycles themselves; these can be taken under agreement with the Italian national health service and with INAIL. Everything here is seasonal, with the medical centre opening in mid-April and the gardens running only through high summer and early September.
