Operating Soviet-era balneological center at Spring No.6, offering public bathing in Tskaltubo's naturally warm radon-carbonate mineral water.
About
Spring No. 6 ("წყარო №6") is the flagship operating balneological bathing center of Tskaltubo, western Georgia's celebrated Soviet-era radon-water spa town. Run by the Tskaltubo Medical Wellness Resort, it draws on the town's famous naturally warm radon-carbonate mineral springs, which emerge at roughly 33-35°C and require no preheating.
The radon-mineral water
Tskaltubo's waters are low-radon, low-mineralized chloride-hydrocarbonate-sulfate sodium-magnesium-calcium waters that rise at body temperature. Because the water rapidly loses its chemical character once released, bathing takes place directly at the source rather than being piped to hotels.
Baths, pools & treatments
- 5 mineral-water pools, 33 individual radon baths and 16 hydro-massage rooms
- Underwater hydro-massage, aqua aerobics and classical massage
- Physiotherapy, Charcot shower and peloid (mud) treatments
Sessions are used both for walk-in public bathing and for multi-day balneotherapy courses treating musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, nervous-system and other conditions.
The spa-town setting
The center sits in the green central park of Tskaltubo, at the heart of a resort town famed for its grand mid-20th-century sanatorium architecture and bathhouse pavilions.
