Historic balneological-climatic resort in Georgia's forested Baghdati mountains, using warm thermal bathing water and four healing mineral waters.

About

Sairme (საირმე) is one of the largest balneological-climatic resorts in Europe and the Caucasus, set at about 950 m elevation in the forested, subtropical mountains of Baghdati Municipality in Georgia's Imereti region, in a gorge cut by the Tsablaristskali River. Its therapeutic mineral springs were scientifically documented in the 1920s, and the resort is a member of the European Spas Association (ESPA).

Mineral & thermal water

The resort offers warm thermal water for bathing (reported up to around 43°C) alongside four distinct kinds of drinking mineral water, each clinically studied for a different use:

  • Sulfate waters — digestive and liver conditions
  • Carbonated waters — metabolic disorders
  • Chloride-sodium waters — urinary system
  • Boron waters — bones and joints

The waters are used to treat kidney, gallbladder, gastrointestinal, metabolic and musculoskeletal ailments, and urinary and biliary stones.

Balneology, pools & treatments

A treatment and restoration center with a 24-hour polyclinic prescribes personalized mineral-water courses. Facilities include outdoor and indoor thermal pools, a spa and wellness center equipped with German technology, and therapies such as hydro-massage, Sharko showers, mineral and hydrosulfuric baths, ozonated mineral water, halotherapy, thalassotherapy, inhalation therapy, colon hydrotherapy and various massages.

Hotels & setting

Accommodation is provided by two hotels, Hotel Sairme and New Sairme, part of the resort complex, with a restaurant, mountain forest trails, biking and a zip line in a pristine alpine-subtropical setting.
