About

Kylpyla SaniFani is a year-round indoor spa and swimming hall in the Hiekkasarkat tourist area of Kalajoki on the Gulf of Bothnia coast of Finland, at Jukupolku 3. The operator places it under an hour's drive from Kokkola and just under two hours from Oulu. The building combines a spa pool section with a conventional swimming hall, and shares its roof with the Santa's Resort & Spa Hotel Sani, two restaurants, treatment and hairdressing services, a bowling alley, an escape room and a fitness centre.

The spa side is listed as a tropical pool with a flowing river channel at 30 degrees, whirlpools at 32 degrees, massage water jets, a small children's play pool at 32 degrees, a water slide, and a cold well at 8 degrees. Floats are lent free of charge for children. The swimming hall side holds a 25 metre lane pool 1.2 to 4 metres deep with six lanes, two of which are reserved for water running, at 26.5 degrees, and a teaching pool 0.6 to 1.0 metres deep at 29 degrees. The hall also has a diving board and a virtual water-aerobics device, and lends water-running belts and swimming and exercise equipment.

Published opening hours are 14:00-20:00 Monday to Friday, 10:00-20:00 on Saturday and 10:00-18:00 on Sunday, with morning swimming on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00. On the public holidays of May Day, Ascension Day and Independence Day the hours are 10:00-18:00 with no morning swim. Admission to the pool section ends one hour before closing and swimming ends 15 minutes before closing. Adult day tickets cost 21 euros and children aged four to fifteen 10.50 euros, with a family ticket for two adults and one or two children at 50 euros; there are also weekly tickets, three-, six- and twelve-month water-exercise passes, and a joint membership with the GoFit fitness centre.

Guided water-exercise classes run to a weekly programme and are included in several ticket types, and swimming lessons and group activities are also offered. The operator sets out an accessibility provision covering an accessible route by lift from the ticket desk to the downstairs changing, washing and pool areas, a pool hoist that reaches both the spa and the swimming-hall pools, a shower wheelchair and shower chairs, a bookable accessible changing room, and free admission for a carer holding an EU disability card. Swimwear, towels and swimming equipment can be rented at the ticket desk, and lanes and the whole spa can be booked for private use.
