A sauna-led water centre at the Viiking Spa Hotel in Pärnu, opened in 2015, with seven themed saunas including one on an island in the main pool.

About

Viiking Saaga is the water and sauna centre of the Viiking Spa Hotel in Pärnu, on Estonia's south-west coast, and it opened in 2015. It is unusual among Estonian water centres in that the saunas, not the pools, are the point: the design leans on caves and grottoes, and the main pool has an island built into it with a sauna standing on the island.

The water itself is arranged for soaking rather than for swimming lengths. The operator describes a suur bassein erinevate lõõgastavate atraktsioonidega, ca 250m² — a main pool of roughly two hundred and fifty square metres fitted with relaxation attractions — together with a children's pool, a channel with a counter-current to walk or drift against, a Japanese bath, and heated loungers along the poolside.

Seven saunas surround it, each with its own character rather than its own temperature band. There is a snow sauna, a steam room worked with salt, the juniper sauna on the island in the main pool, an aroma steam room, a Finnish sauna, an igloo sauna on the upper floor, and a Viking sauna on the roof that runs up to a hundred degrees. A bar with its own seating serves the centre, opening in the afternoon on weekdays and at midday at weekends.

The centre opens at ten and closes at nine in the evening on weekdays, running an hour later on Saturdays and public holidays.
